The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 27 vessels carrying petroleum products, food items and other commodities are scheduled to arrive at major Lagos ports between September 7 and September 20.
The vessels are expected at the Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tin Can Island Port.
The authority disclosed the development in its Daily Shipping Position released on Monday.
Ships to Bring Fuel, Agricultural Products and Cargo
According to the NPA, 10 of the incoming vessels will arrive with containerised goods, while others will transport various commodities including: Crude oil, Aviation fuel, general cargo, bulk gypsum, sugar, salt
The authority said the expected arrivals form part of ongoing maritime activities aimed at supporting trade and supply chains through Nigeria’s busiest ports.
Seven Vessels Await Berthing
The NPA also reported that seven ships and tanker vessels had already arrived at the three Lagos ports and were waiting to berth.
The vessels are expected to discharge commodities including:
- Premium Motor Spirit (petrol)
- Diesel
- Bulk urea
20 Ships Currently Discharging Cargo
Meanwhile, the ports authority said 20 vessels are currently engaged in cargo discharge operations across the three facilities.
The commodities being handled include: Bulk wheat, Containers, fresh fish, general cargo, fertiliser, pallets, bulk urea, bulk gas, petrol
The NPA said the continued movement of vessels reflects ongoing commercial activities at Lagos ports and supports the flow of essential commodities into the country.
