Easter: Nigeria “II overcome its challenges – Cleric

Pastor Gabriel Aboderin, Regional Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Madaiyese Region, Abuja, has expressed hope that Nigeria will

overcome its economic and security challenges.

Aboderin said this in an interview with our Correspondent on the sidelines of the Church’s Easter celebration in Abuja.

He noted that though the things are difficult, but Nigerians should remain hopeful and trust in God for a better future.

“Every problem has an expiry date. There is hope for tomorrow. What we are going through today is not unique to us alone,” he said.

The cleric encouraged Christian faithful to hold on to God’s promises, stressing that Easter serves as a reminder of God’s power, as demonstrated through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“Easter Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which stands at the core of the Christian faith. It is a validation of all the promises made by Jesus to believers.

“For Christians, this day confirms Jesus’ divinity and assures us of His second coming.

“The resurrection gives us hope of life after death and if Christ rose from the dead, then believers too shall rise,” Aboderin said.

According to him, Christ’s resurrection signifies victory over sin, assurance of forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life for all who believe.

“The resurrection is not just a historical event but a living promise. It reminds Christians that in Christ, victory and new beginnings are always possible,” he said.

Also speaking, a worshipper, Mrs Juliana Bamiyo, described Easter as a sacred season that commemorates the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross to redeem humanity.

Bamiyo said the resurrection offers hope to believers that they will also rise with Christ on His second coming.

She urged Nigerians to embrace the gospel of Christ, adding that He remains the only way to salvation.

“According to John 14:6, Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’

“We should also allow peace to reign in Nigeria and across the world,” she said.
