Federal Commissioner, Federal Character Commission (FCC), Ambassador Ginika Tor, has urged leaders at all levels to mentor their followers well to build a stronger and progressive society.
She also expressed confidence and support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, whom she described as a “true mentor and builder”.
She gave the charge on Friday, during her birthday celebration and unveiling of the “Omaluegwuoku Progressive Initiatives” held in Enugu.
At a colourful event attended by people from different walks of life, Ambassador Tor advised leaders to always allow the people they are leading a breath of life.
“If you are mentoring somebody, you allow the person a chance to drive. You don’t hold the steering and say you are mentoring people ”
Speaking further on her support for Tinubu, she said “I am a member of APC and had canvassed seriously for an Igbo president.
” Before now, I canvassed for South East president. The South East had been loyal to the PDP. All their votes were given to PDP. When it comes to taking decision, they left the South East. They went outside.

“There is time for everything. For me, I will stand for my party. I am supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was mentoring people all over Nigeria. I listened to him and I saw someone who is ready to change the narrative.
“Lagos is one of the states in Nigeria enjoying good governance because a good foundation was laid . That foundation is Bola Tinubu.”
She advised voters to look at the contestants that have good pedigrees. ‘We were looking at South East , looking at the PDP, but PDP gave it to Hausa and if they took that step, what do we do? We must win an election. I stood for the South East presidency to balance the imbalance. PDP owes the Igbo. It will surely come to South East someday, but for now, it’s APC all the way”.
She thanked her husband, Chief Henry Tor, for his support and for allowing her to explore her potentials.
In an interview, her husband, Chief Hon. Henry Tor, described her as “a bundle of joy.”
He said: “It is difficult to describe her. She is a fantastic woman. She is a bundle of joy. Highly proactive”.
He prayed God to grant her divine guidance and more blessings
On his part, the chairman of APC, Chief Ben Nwoye, described Mrs Tor as “an Amazon”. He prayed God to bless her with long life and good health.

Ginika Tor by the youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo worldwide, represented by Arthur Chinedu, musical presentations and the cutting of birthday cake by the celebrant.
