The Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, has urged the contestants of the 2020 Enugu State beauty pageant to always bear in mind that they are already the image of the state and should be good ambassadors anywhere they found themselves.
She gave the advice on Monday, when the contestants and the the contest paid her a courtesy visit in her office in Government House, Enugu.
The Deputy Governor said: “I hope you know what you are going in for? The exposure the world is giving you today worths good conduct and behaviour.
”Always be a good ambassador of the state anywhere and whenever you may be or found yourself.
” The contest will be on Tuesday and let it occur to you that we are going to have only one winner out of all the contestants and you are expected to take the outcome in good faith.
” Do not let the outcome of the contest deter you if you are not the lucky one as you have been exposed to the world through this means, ” she urged.
She thanked the manager and the contestants for choosing her as their Metron and mentor . She accepted to play the role of crowning the winner as they requested from her.
Earlier, the Manager of the Enugu State Beauty Pageant, Mr Bright Ezih, told the deputy governor that the contest for the 2020 Miss Enugu State will take centre stage on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the ongoing state carnival.
He said that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to bring the platform before the deputy governor:
” Our purpose of visiting you is to bring our platform to your office as we have chosen you to be our mother and mentor.
” As our mother, we are here to present our contestants to you and we want you to take this platform as your own,”.
Ezih invited the deputy governor to be their guest during the contest and crown the winner.
