A gathering of major political blocs in Ogun State at a stakeholders meeting on Thursday, passed a vote of confidence on the immediate past  Governor of the South-West state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, with a charge to lead them to victory in 2019, stating that they strongly believe that he possesses all the required wherewithal.
The meeting, which was held at the Conference Hotel, Sagamu, had representatives of major gubernatorial hopefuls like Senator Olamilekan Solomon (Yayi), Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) in attendance.

Also in attendance were former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Salmot Badru, former Speakers of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni and Rt. Hon. Soyemi Coker, former members House of Representatives, Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan and Hon. Segun Osibote, Elder Akinhanmi, several commissioners during the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel and political leaders cutting across political party divides.
Speaking at the occasion, Daniel called for unity of purpose while urging the stakeholders to be focused and work towards a grand coalition and also avoid formation of splinter political parties that will not be strong enough to gain power in the coming political dispensation.
According to him, all hands must be on deck and everybody must work hard to bring back those that have left back to the fold and choose the best of candidates for the coming general election.

The former governor also hinted that further consultations are ongoing both locally and nationally following the latest happenings in the polity while urging everyone to be alert as a definite political direction will soon be taken.

The leaders in attendance, who spoke in turns, unanimously agreed that there should be a rainbow coalition of a big united political family that will be strong enough to take out the incumbent government in the coming elections.
