Nigeria’s grandmasters of data and sponsor of the annual Ojude Oba Festival of the Ijebu people, Globacom, has outlined a bumper package that would make this year’s Festival memorable for attendees.
Globacom’s Regional Manager Activation, in charge of Lagos and Ogun, Mr. Olufolahan Faseyitan, disclosed this at the World Press Conference organized to herald this year’s event at the Awujale’s Palace in Ijebu Ode recently.
He said that unlike last year, when only one person won the star prize which was a brand new car, ten lucky residents of Ijebu Ode and environs will, this year, have the opportunity to win ten tricycles in the Ojude Oba raffle which is already running.
He added that anybody who purchases items in any Gloworld shop in Ijebu Ode or Ago Iwoye during this period and meets the threshold, will be given a raffle ticket which qualifies him or her to win the star prize or any of the ten LED television sets also available for customers. The draw for the winners will be made during the event in August.
Meanwhile, residents have been trooping to the entrance of the Awujale Palace to ogle the displayed tricycles mounted on a dais outside the palace fence. Many were seen praying and hoping that they would win one of the tricycles to engage in transportation business.

Also, ace comedian, MC Bash will serenade attendees at the all-night show where the 2019 Miss Ojude Oba will be picked.
Briefing journalists earlier, the Chairman of the 2019 Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Chief Wahab Dosunmu, announced that business mogul, Chief Kessington Adebutu, is expected to be the Special Guest while the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, will be the Guest of Honour. The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi will be the Royal Father of the day.
He commended Globacom for its strong and unbroken support over the years for the Ojude Oba Festival which had been celebrated for over two centuries now. According to him, this year’s theme, “Ojude Oba: The Uniqueness of the Ijebu Nation”, speaks to the objective of taking stock and boosting trade and commerce.
Fielding questions later, the Coordinator, 2019 Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Chief Fassy Yusuf, also commended Globacom for its resolve in empowering Nigerians in diverse ways, which he said was a veritable means of wealth redistribution and social enterprise.
