The Nigerian under-23 male team, Dream Team VI, were on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt drawn in Group B of the Men’s Football Tournament at the 11th All-Africa Games (AAG).
The tournament is scheduled for September 3 to 18 at the AAG billed for Brazzaville in Congo.
The draw was one of two draws conducted at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo.

In the other draw, African champions Nigeria will tackle host nation Congo-Brazzaville, Tanzania and Cote d’Ivoire in Group A of the Women’s Football Tournament of the games.

The male draw saw Ghana’s Black Meteors, Senegal’s Lions and Egypt’s Pharaohs joining the Dream Team VI in Group B of the tournament.

Host nation Congo has a somewhat easier challenge, after being drawn alongside Sudan, Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso in Group A.

The Dream Team VI will open their campaign at the tournament against Egypt.

For the women draw, Cameroon’s Lionesses, who reached the Round of 16 at the just–ended FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Canada, will play in Group B.

They have as opponents South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, Ghana’s Black Queens and Egypt’s Lady Pharaohs.

The Super Falcons however have as Group A foes the Ivorian Lady Elephants, whom they beat 4-2 in the opening match of the 2014 African Women Championship (AWC).

Hosts Congo and Tanzania will join Nigeria in the group.
