The Czech police said on Thursday that they have arrested 12 active and former footballers over alleged match-fixing.
The spokesman for police anti-corruption squad, Jaroslav Ibehej, who disclosed this in Prague, said the men were also being questioned for corruption in soccer and possible match-fixing in different competitions.
“12 people suspected of corruption in soccer, possible match-fixing in different competitions and related punting activities have been arrested.’’
Ibehej added that 20 others had also been summoned for questioning.
