FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as his loyalist, Samuel Anyanwu, returns to office as the National Secretary.
For months, PDP topshots refused to recognise Anyanwu as the secretary.
But on Wednesday, the PDP reinstated Anyanwu to his role as National Secretary.

Ambassador Iliya Damagum, the Acting National Chairman of the party, made this announcement.

Damagum, along with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and other significant stakeholders, stated that the choice to reinstate Anyanwu into the National Working Committee, NWC, was difficult, yet ultimately embraced by a majority of party members, guided by the party’s organs.

He also declared the cancellation of the scheduled NEC meeting, stating, “We will have an expanded Caucus; at the next Caucus, we will make a decision leading to a proper NEC.

“Anyanwu is returning as the National Secretary, which is why I mentioned it was a critical decision. As INEC indicated, they do not have our notice, so what we will have on June 30th is an extended Caucus”.
