Dr Gifty Addico, the new Resident Representative of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Nigeria, has presented her Letter of Credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar.
This is contained in a statement published on the UNFPA’s website on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the UNFPA boss was accompanied to the ministry for the official ceremony by UNFPA Nigeria senior management.
“Addico, a Ghanaian, before now was the Chief of the Security branch in the Technical Division of UNFPA headquarters in New York, U.S.A.
“She provided direction and technical leadership for UNFPA’s global work in family planning and reproductive health supplies.
“Addico is a medical doctor with several years of experience in strategic leadership in international development and health programs at global and national levels. Focusing on developing countries.
“As resident representative, she will provide vision and leadership for the work of UNFPA.
“And will be accountable for implementing the UNFPA’s country program, and operators,” the statement said.
Highpoint of the presentation was discussion on areas of collaboration and shared assurances of cooperation to actual use the SFGs in Nigeria.
