*Kick-Off 9pm today

Liverpool face their biggest challenge yet under Arne Slot, as the Reds take on Real Madrid in the Champions League at Anfield.

The Premier League leaders are flying high under their new manager, and remain unbeaten in Europe heading into a season-defining week that sees two home games against Madrid, and then a top of the table clash against Manchester City. For now though, the focus will be on their continental responsibilities, and ending their poor run of form against the European champions.

In this article, we take a look at the biggest game in the upcoming round of Liverpool’s Champions League fixtures and assess who could come out on top in this clash at Anfield. Read on to find out more.

Liverpool are yet to beat Real Madrid since the 4-0 thrashing they gave the Spaniards under Rafa Benitez in 2009. Since then, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have proved a constant thorn in the side of the Premier League outfit.

Madrid lifted the title yet again on English soil when they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley – goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior settling the game – and they are looking at making it three titles in the last four years despite their recent dip in form.

Los Blancos have lost their last two games in Europe, with Lille and AC Milan shocking even the top betting sites available, but they boast a great winning record against Liverpool.

They defeated the Reds in the 2018 and 2022 finals, adding to their impressive run against Jurgen Klopp, but many also forget the 3-0 route at Anfield in 2014, where Brendan Rodgers side were simply outclassed by Cristiano Ronaldo and co.
