The Lekki Widow, by Biodun Durojaiye

When Lagos tech golden boy, Tunde Balogun, vanishes without a trace, the city whispers of fraud, flight and betrayal. His abandoned car is found near the quiet edges of Lekki Conservation Centre — too neat, too convenient.

But Michael Adebayo, a sharp-eyed banker with an instinct for trouble, isn’t buying the official story. Not after seeing Tunde’s fiancée, the elegant and enigmatic Adesuwa Cole, break down on live television. Something in her trembling voice doesn’t match the fear in her eyes.

Lagos gossip already has a name for her:
The Lekki Widow — the woman whose lovers end up dead, broke or missing.

As Michael digs deeper, he stumbles into the crosshairs of The Velvet Circle, a secret society of powerful women led by the chillingly sophisticated Madam Veronique. Bound by loyalty, influence and blood money, they control everything Adesuwa touches — and they don’t tolerate interference.

Soon, Michael is fighting for answers, for the truth, and for his own life as he realises Adesuwa is not a temptress, but a prisoner. And Tunde’s disappearance is only the beginning.

In a city where wealth hides wickedness and power rewrites fate, Michael must confront a deadly question:

Is Adesuwa Cole a victim… or the most dangerous woman in Lagos?

Written by Biodun Durojaiye, a journalist and tech entrepreneur, The Lekki Widow is a gripping James Hadley Chase-style Lagos noir thriller filled with secrets, seduction, corruption and the high-stakes glamour of a city where everyone has something to hide—and nothing is ever what it seems.

*The whole 28 Chapters of the novel will be published in The Lagos Times, starting tomorrow. WATCH OUT!*
