Ten dead, 10 rescued in Lagos collapsed building

Ten people were confirmed dead on Tuesday after a five-storey building collapsed in Lekki area of Lagos State.
Ten others were rescued.
Some of them were severely injured.
Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Rasak Fadipe, said that the building was under construction at Chisco Bus Stop, opposite Oando Filling Station, Lekki.
He said that the building went down during a heavy morning rain.
Fadipe confirmed that the victims were workers with the construction company handling the building who slept in it overnight.
He said they got a distress call about 4.47 a.m. and promptly mobilised for rescue operations.
“Our men are still on ground while search and rescue operation is still on-going,’’ he said.
