Speaker tasks Nasarawa stakeholders, youths on peace, unity

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, has urged stakeholders and youths of Toto Local Government Area to embrace peace, unity, love and togetherness at all times.
This, he said, would facilitate development of the area and the state at large.
The speaker made the appeal while playing host to Egbira Youth Movement, Lafia branch, in his office on Monday in Lafia.
He said that no society would achieve any meaningful progress without unity and peace hence the need of his calls in that direction.
“Let’s bring ourselves together in unity to share ideas and problems for the overall development of Toto Local Government Area.
“Let’s always propagate the gospel of unity at all times as no society will achieve speedy development without unity and peace
“I supported the idea for the rotation of chairmanship seat among the three districts of Toto Local Government in the interest of unity, togetherness, fairness, justice and peace,” he emphasized.
He explained that his position was to bring unity, peace, progress and development to the area.
Abdullahi also called for change of attitude among stakeholders and other people of the area for development to continue to thrive.
“We must all have positive attitudes towards the development of Toto Local Government Area,” he said.
He enjoined them to protect the interest of the area and ensure the development of Toto than their personal interests.
Besides, Abdullahi urged the youths and other stakeholders to pray and support him and the government of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
The speaker commended the governor for giving Toto local government and the state priority development attention and called for its sustenance.
He assured of his continuous readiness to stand for the youths and bring development to the area.
“We will continue to provide good governance to the people of the area and the state,” he asured.
Earlier, Mr Mahmood Ohimegye, the President, Egbira Youth Movement, Lafia branch, said the visit was a congratulatory visit over his tripple victory at the election, the speakership tussle and at the tribunal.
Shuaibu, who spoke through Alhaji Hashimu Obaraku, also appreciated the speaker for his inclusive leadership style.
“Sir, congratulations for winning all the three battles; one your election victory, second the speakership victory and third the tribunal victory.
“You have done well and still doing well, and we want to assure you of our support to succeed,” he said.
He appreciated the speaker for the appointments of Toto sons and daughters into various government positions and called for more.
The youths presented an award of Excellence to the speaker as an “Icon of Peace and Justice” and for his developmental strides
