Shittu deserves to be minister, says Oyo APC chief, Taiwo

From Bode Durojaiye, Oyo.
Acting Chairman, Buhari Solidarity Organisation (BSO), Oyo State chapter, Akinrogun Segun Taiwo, has urged politicians to refrain from recriminations, baseless and unfounded allegations, as well as divisive tendencies that are capable of undermining peaceful co-existence.
He also praised Governor Abiola Ajimobi for his magnanimity, sense of commitment on the endorsement and support for the outgoing chairman of the organisation and ministerial nominee from the state, Chief Bayo Shittu.
Taiwo, at a media briefing in Oyo town, said contrary to sponsored protests and write-ups by some fifth columnists against the personality of the ministerial nominee, it is incontrovertible that when he served as commissioner during the administrations of both late Alhaji Lam Adesina and Rashidi Ladoja, Bayo Shittu proved to be a man with conscience whose actions and deeds are not only guided by
moral courage, but sources of inspiration to upcoming generation.
Taiwo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that,’’how could the ministerial nominee be enemy of the APC in the state? Bayo Shittu was in Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) before the formation of a mega APC as a party which incorporated other parties, including CPC. It was from the APC that BSO was formed during
electioneering campaigns”.
According to him, the organisation under Shittu and with self-financing, worked assiduously for the overall success of the APC in the South-West state.
While thanking President Muhammadu Buhari for deeming it necessary to pick among those to form his cabinet from Oke-Ogun area, one of the major components of the state, Taiwo urged the President to give special consideration to the ancient Oyo metropolis in his administration.
He said: “The landslide victory recorded by the APC in the last general elections in the state was indisputably as a result of the unflinching support and backing of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Laimidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111. During the APC’s registration exercise, Alaafin was the first to register and later displayed his membership card publicly before the media. The choice of the Alaafin for the party was unanimously endorsed by traditional rulers in Oke-Ogun areas.’’
