Stakeholders in Lagos State and All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for another term in office, citing his visionary leadership and commitment to national unity and development.
The endorsement took place during a high-level stakeholders’ engagement in Lagos.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ministers, legislators, traditional rulers and party chieftains in the state attended the meeting .
Sanwo-Olu, who presided over the session, said the gathering was a reflection of the unity and shared purpose among the people of Lagos.
“We are truly happy as a people because today we can see unity in action.
“This is about our roots, about Lagos, and about what we all stand for as stakeholders who believe in the vision of our president,” he said.
The governor commended members of the National Executive Council, federal cabinet members, and lawmakers for their contributions to national development.
According to him, the engagement provided an opportunity for different representatives from the House of Representatives, Senate, and state executives to express their continued confidence in Tinubu’s leadership.
“Our president has listened to all our stakeholders here today.
“By unanimous decision, we have resolved that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should present himself to continue leading our nation for another term”.he said.
Sanwo-Olu urged all stakeholders to remain steadfast in supporting the administration’s ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economy, infrastructure, and social development
The motion for endorsement was moved by a traditional ruler, Oba Kabir Sotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, and seconded by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa.
Speaking, the deputy governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, highlighted the achievements of the state government under the THEMES plus agenda.
Hamzat said that over the past six years, the state had witnessed remarkable successes across all sectors,including ,security, education and entertainment.
“I say with boldness that THEMES plus agenda is not just a slogan; it id a blueprint for progress, a plan anchored on deliberate, inclusive, and sustainable development, from infrastructural renewal to human capacity building.
“Lagos has continued to move forward with incredible energy and purpose,” Hamzat said.
Present at the meeting were former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode as well as officials of local governments in the state.
The State APC chairman,Mr Cornelius Ojelabi,led party executives and some party members in endorsing Tinubu.
The event ended with a symbolic applause and solidarity chants reaffirming Lagos’ commitment to the Tinubu-led administration.
