The Forum on Global Human Rights Governance which begins in Beijing on Wednesday will focus on international cooperation, global human rights governance, and the Global Development Initiative, the organisers have said.
The meeting is expected to attract more than 300 participants from nearly 100 countries and international organisations including UN agencies.
The two-day forum with the theme, “Equality, Cooperation, and Development: The 30th Anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action and Global Human Rights Governance,” will also focus attention on global security initiative.
Other areas to focus on are the realisation of the right to development, human rights protection, and the UN human rights mechanism.
The forum is jointly hosted by the Information Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the China International Development Cooperation Agency.
