Rainstorm on the rampage in Oyo

At least two persons sustained injuries, while properties worth millions of naira were destroyed after a rainstorm swept through Oyo town.
The downpour, first of its kind this year, started around
6: 30pm last Thurday and lasted about three hours, accompanied by heavy storm.
Areas mostly affected include Elekara market, Ilora, Sawmill, Oba Nanko, Iseke and Aketan Titun.
At Elekara market, over 100 shops were badly affected.
One person, Alausa Ramon, was reported to have sustained some injuries and was taken to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, the state capital.
Chairman of the traders’ association in the market, Alhaji Wasiu Isiaka, who was close to tears, called on the state government, and well meaning individuals to come to the aid of the traders.
Similarly at Ilora town in Afijio West Local Government, roofing sheets of many houses were blown off, while others were flooded with rainfall.
Adewale Agboluaje, who sympathised with victims of the rainstorm, said necessary steps would be taken to inform relevant authorities for the needed assistance.
One person whose name could not be identified was said to have been injured while packing out the family’s belonging from the flooded house.
