Mr Dare Babatunde, the Proprietor of a private school in Ilorin, has advised school teachers to be disciplined and always lead by example while discharging their duties.
Giving the advice in Ilorin on Saturday in an interview, Babatunde said teachers must be morally sound and be mindful of their actions in the classroom and public.
According to him, most teachers only prioritize their classroom work and never mind their actions outside the classroom.
“Teaching a subject is not everything, rather your moral conduct as a teacher means a lot.
“You need to dress decently and be polite in your manner of approach. You also need to be very hardworking and not be a lazy teacher.
“You are to lead by example. Most of your students are watching you and copy whatever you do,” he counselled.
The proprietor also advised teachers to desist from the habit of dating or wooing their students.
He said students would always take chance and disrespect any teacher who approached them for love affairs.
“It is irresponsible and indiscipline to be asking your student out for date.
“Teach them and leave the class instead of hanging around with them at every free period,” he advised.
