nigeria_police_logoThe Police Command in Bayelsa has confirmed that a mobile policeman was killed in a fracas that erupted at the burial of the traditional ruler of Nembe Kingdom.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Alex Akhigbe, told newsmen on Tuesday in Yenagoa that the police had arrested some youths over the death of the corporal, whose identity was not disclose.

Akhigbe said the deceased was among the police team drafted to provide security at the burial of the traditional ruler of Obama community in Nembe Local Government Area of the state.

He said the remains were deposited at the mortuary in Yenagoa.
