Plateau Utd to Baraje: Step aside

Nigeria Professional Football League side, Plateau United, have asked the team’s head coach, Zachary Baraje, to “step aside” after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday in Jos.
Baraje was named coach of the Jos club, which made a return to the top-flight this season, after former coach Bala Nkiyu took charge of the Nigerian women’s Under-17 national team, the Flamingoes.
Plateau United have not had a good season as yet sitting on 14th position on the NPFL log after 17 match days.
The last straw was obviously the game against El-Kanemi at the Rwang Pam Stadium when the hosts had to claw their way back to earn a 1-1 draw.

Club legend and former captain, Victor Wikadson, will take charge of the side pending when Baraje’s fate is decided.

Plateau United have raked in 21 points from 17 games so far but have drawn their last four games – two at home and two away.
