Although Bolivia has shown progress in gender policies, there are some barriers that still need to be overcome. In a new and unfamiliar cultural setting, female migrants remain exposed to diverse forms of abuse, discrimination and violence. With more than half the population comprised of indigenous communities, it is easy to understand the direct link between ethnicity and poverty. Empowering women in Bolivia
