Dr Ibrahim Kana, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defense, has commended the ministry’s cooperative society for its immense contribution to national development.
Kana made the commendation when he inaugurated a shopping mall belonging to the cooperative at Nyanya, Abuja.
He noted that the Ministry of Defense Agricultural Cooperative Society shopping mall was among numerous other investments by the organization.
Kana said in a statement by Mrs Victoria Agba-Attah, Director, Press and Public Relations in the ministry on Sunday, that the society had attained an enviable identity in diverse dimensions.
He noted that this was especially in the astonishing increase in its capital base and infrastructure development within and outside Abuja.
“I am aware of your numerous projects within and outside Abuja, which include the MODACS Guest House in Jos, bus services and other infrastructural projects at various locations within and outside Abuja,” he added.
The Permanent Secretary also commended the civil servants contributing to the scheme, saying that they had helped in no small measure in realizing the objectives of the cooperative.
“I call on you all to help develop the country and serve as agents of progress,” he added.
In his remarks, the President of the cooperative, Dr Edache Adigwu, said that in spite of some challenges, they had maintained steady astronomical rise over the years.
These, he said, included unprecedented expansion and physical structures.
“I am happy to see the level of success recorded in the organization.
“When I came into the cooperative in 2015 as a medical doctor, I made a promise that if allowed to manage the affairs of the cooperative, I will take it to a greater height.
“Today, I can count on various departments and the MODACS and say that the liquidity base has maintained a steady astronomical rise within the year 2022 under my administration,” Adigwu said
