AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE STATE OF OSUN ON NOVEMBER 1, 2017, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC
1. On the announcement of the passage of Jide Tinubu, son of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Council observed one minute silence in his memory and prayed for the repose of his soul. May he find comfort in his next station.
2. All producers and marketers of bottled and sachet water in the state have been directed by Council to obtain certification for their operations and products from the relevant agency of government. This is necessary to safeguard public health and prevent water borne diseases.
3. Council directs all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government managing and carrying out economic intervention programmes in which an individual benefits to the tune of N100,000=00 and above, to bring all such individuals into the state’s tax net for the purpose of collecting tax from them. This will exclude the cadets of Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES) and beneficiaries of Agba Osun.
4. Council was briefed on the invitation extended by the police to suspects who were alleged to have assaulted the former governor of the State of Osun, late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, in an Osogbo hotel in 2014. Council held that the invitation is in order, agreeing that we are a society of law and order. That a crime was committed three years ago and the victim has passed on, does not mean that justice cannot be served or that a criminal should escape justice.
5. Council received report on the concessioning of MKO Abiola International Airport, Ido Osun, to All Works of Life Development Organisation (AWOL International Limited). Council expressed satisfaction on the arrangement and urged all the parties to do everything possible to deliver the first phase on or before the eight months envisaged in the agreement. Council condemned the campaign of calumny embarked upon by the opposition, saying the falsehood being peddled by the party is not just opposition rhetoric but a grand plan to scuttle the project. Council then admonished the people of the state to be vigilant and not allow them to sabotage this lofty project.
