Onigbinde: Oliseh’s appointment, a slap on Nigeria

Former Super Eagles Head Coach, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, on Monday said that Rangers International FC of Enugu winning the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League after 32 years of drought was commendable.
Onigbinde said in Lagos that the NPFL could be better organised than what obtained at the moment.
Rangers sealed its victory with a 4-0 defeat of El- Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
“It’s very commendable, there was a time when Kano Pillars won back to back, but with Rangers winning after several attempts, the players and the coaches should be proud of themselves.

“Now other clubs too can aspire to be like Rangers with an ideology that with handwork and dedication they can win the title, there is no short cut to success.

“Just like almost everything in the country, the NPFL can be better than what it is now, the administrators should get better.

“We need to keep trying our best to ensure that we place more emphasis on players’ welfare,’’ Onigbinde said.

“One way to know if our league is improving is by the crowd at league matches.

“If by now the stadia are not filled to capacity, it means the league has yet to attract football fans’ attention like the foreign leagues have.’’

Flying Antelopes finished with 63 points from 36 matches played in the league.
