Eight months after he was appointed as Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh, on Thursday told the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to go to hell.
He resigned.
Oliseh, who resigned from his Belgium base, declared that he could no longer continue the job he took over from Stephen Keshi in July, 2015 because of lack of sincerity on the part of NFF officials.
The former Super Eagles player said he had to resign to save his name and project his image because everything is being done by the NFF to sabotage him ahead of next month’s crucial AFCON qualifiers against Egypt which holds in Kaduna on March 25.
His resignation letter was addressed to NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, and he copied principal officials like the General-Secretary.
He also called the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, to intimate him of his decision to quit.
Pinnick is already in Zurich, Switzerland with top NFF officials for the FIFA presidency election.
Among others, Oliseh is owed four months salary and for the eight months he coached the team, he was homeless because the accommodation promised him did not see the light of the day.
Oliseh said in a tweet: “Due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages, benefits to my players, assistant coaches and myself, I resign as Super Eagles Chief Coach”.
Freedom Online learned that Oliseh was also livid over the sack of his personal assistant and former international, Tijani Babangida.
Many Nigerians have already reacted to the resignation.
One of them, Bonaventure Melah, said: “Sunday Oliseh quits? Why did they allow him to do that. Oliseh should have been dismissed long ago. Those who hired him should be prosecuted. I spoke on WE FM Abuja a day after he was hired that Oliseh will turn out a disaster. Shame on Pinnick and all NFF executive committee members”.
