Okowa urges PDP members to achieve 100% victory in 2019

Okowa urges PDP members to achieve 100% victory in 2019

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, on Thursday, urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to work hard for the party to achieve 100 per cent victory at the 2019 polls.
The governor gave the advice  at the inauguration of the state PDP Campaign Committees for the elections, by the Party Chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso, at the party campaign secretariat, Asaba.
“The governor said: “We want to go into the campaigns as a united body, we should carry everybody along and don’t underestimate anybody, because there is no law that says we cannot have 100 per cent votes in an election.
“We should work with one mind, Delta is for PDP and with the cooperation of everybody, we can achieve 100 per cent votes in the elections.
He congratulated members of the committee and state Chairman of the party  for having a small committee at the state level.
“What is more important to us is the local government and unit levels.

” Time is short and I am sure the Director-General of the Campaign Committee, Chief Solomon.Esiso is working very hard for the campaign to start in early January.”
Esiso, while inaugurating the committee, said that members were carefully selected to ensure that all party candidates win in the election.
Meanwhile, the former governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Chief Great Ogboru, Sen. Ovie  Omo-Agege said they had dedicated Delta  All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign to God.
In their separate speeches at the dedication at  the Rainbow Christian Assembly Church, Efurun- Warri, they said that the party would take over the governance of Delta in 2019.
They also.said that it was time for APC to bring a new dawn, and light of development to what they believed had been years of slavery and underdevelopment of the state by the PDP.
Uduaghan said that with him and Ogboru now in one camp, the issue of who wins the 2019 general elections in Delta was already a settled one.
He said that he and Ogboru had been foes in the past but had come  together.
“I know how we had been doing it before and with both of us now in one camp, victory is already sure come 2019.”
On the crises that had rocked the state chapter of the APC, Uduaghan, said peace had returned to the party, as he assured the church and the people of the state of purposeful governance, if the party wins.
“APC had had challenges, but peace has returned to the party,” Uduaghan said.
Also, the Senator representing Delta central, Omo-Agege, said that with the configuration of the different personalities in the party, the time to liberate the state had been set.
He said that the focus of the state party leadership was to win ,convincingly, in the state and return President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
On his part, the State APC flag bearer, Ogboru said he would deliver better governance come 2019, adding “now is my turn as it has been foretold”.
