The Team Nigeria women’s relay quartet of Blessing Okagbare, Gloria Asumnu, Jennifer Madu and Agnes Osazuwa on Thursday booked a place to run in the final of the women’s 4x100m relay.
The team finished in second place at 42.55 seconds to qualify for the final.
The Germany quartet of Tatjana Pinto/Lisa Mayer/Gina Lueckenkemper/Rebekka Haase finished in first position in the race running 42.18 seconds. The Trinidad and Tobago team of Semoy Hackett/Michelle-Lee Ahye/Kelly-Ann Baptiste/Khalifa St.Fort finished in third position at 42.62 seconds, while Brazil’s Bruna Farias/Franciela Krasucki/Kauiza Venancio and Rosangela Santos finished in fourth position to also qualify running 42.85 seconds.
The other qualifiers are Jamaica’s Simone Facey/Shashalee Forbes/Veronica Campbell-Brown/Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who ran a brilliant 41.79 seconds to win their race. Britain’s Asha Philip/Desiree Henry/Dina Asher-Smith and Darryl Neita also qualifies running 41.93 seconds.
Ukraine and Canada completes the qualifiers running 42.49 seconds and 42.70 seconds respectively.
