Ogun guber: Ashiru visits Akarigbo, seeks royal blessing

The Akarigbo of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adewale Babatunde Ajayi, has received Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, in his palace in Sagamu.
The monarch, who is an accountant and lawyer, said he had known Ashiru a long time as a man endowed with a pleasant personality. The monarch, who stated that he was aware that people are daily expressing their desires for him to be the next governor of Ogun State being a forward looking state with plethora of business opportunities, disclosed that as a traditional ruler, he is a father to all, hence he would play host to many more aspirants but believed whoever is desirous of victory at the end of the day must work hard for it. Ashiru, who was accompanied to the palace by many politicians, told the monarch he was interested in becoming the next governor of the Gateway State because he has the quality and leadership dexterity needed to bring about resourceful governance.
Ashiru disclosed that he had studied and understood all the strategies, methodologies to running a people – oriented and developmentally stable economy and promised to bring it to bear in his administration of the state. Ashiru, who was on November 17, 2017 announced as the consensus candidate in Ogun East, dispelled the rumours making the rounds that it was Governor Ibikunle Amosun who is behind his candidature, vowing that the governor was not even aware he was nursing governorship aspiration until he was announced as the consensus candidate for APC by the APC panel saddled with that responsibility.
He thanked Oba Ajayi for the warm reception accorded his entourage.
