Nigerian striker, Chikeluba Ofoedu, was in fine form for his Turkish Lig 1 side, Samsunspor, in the 2-1 home loss to Karsiyaka on Sunday.
The former Enugu Rangers attacker scored for Samsunspor albeit they lost at home in a very entertaining game.
The visitors opened scoring at the May 19 Stadium through Omer Kandemir’s spot kick in the 18th minute.
Ofoedu, who is popularly known in Turkey as ‘Chico’ equalised for Samsunspor in the 68th minute of the game as the home side chased the win.
It wasn’t to be as Gokhan Unal’s late goal gave Karsiyaka the three points at stake.
Another Nigerian, Ekigho Ehiosun was on the bench for Samsunspor but didn’t get to play in the match
The goal was Ofoedu’s fourth of the season as Samsunspor is in 12th place on the log with 22 points from 20 games.
