A non governmental organisation , Junior Achievement Nigeria(JAN), on Wednesday, said it would train 100 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and recent graduates on entrepreneurial skills.
The JAN Executive Director, Mrs Folusho Gbadamosi, made this known in the statement.
She said the training was in collaboration with Parthian Partners, GB Foods, and Mastercard.
According to her, the training will be given under the Venture in Management Program (ViMP)
“This is aimed at equipping youths with essential business management skills.
“Annually, about 100 graduates are taken through activities aimed at sharpening their entrepreneurial and work readiness skills,” she said.
She said that the program, slated for Sept. 11 to 15, would be hosted by the Lagos Business School.
“This is a five-day transformative program where selected corps members and recent graduates are taught in case study facilitated sessions by world-class educators and professors.
“During this time, participants delve into compelling case studies that mirror real-world challenges faced by businesses today.
“The program will also incorporate stimulating study groups, panel discussions and guest speakers, who will offer insights into various aspects of business.
“This program will also encourage critical thinking, leadership development and a deep understanding of the complexities of business ethics, marketing, finance, and strategy,” she said.
She added that the 23rd edition which also is the 23rd anniversary, marked the 23rd year of partnership with Lagos Business School and the third time the program would be held in hybrid mode.
“The program will also feature special events such as community service project, Alumni Mixer and Career Fair, with leading professionals from the ViMP alumni community and other industry professionals,” she said.
She added that ViMP was one of JAN’s ways of raising global leaders passionate about the well-being of nations and people.
“We are convinced that young people have the ability to transform their communities and create long term solutions that will have an impact on the world around them.
“Our ultimate goal is to build, promote and sustain a global leadership mindset among young people for the corporate and entrepreneurial world.” she said.
The General Manager, GB Foods, Mr Vincent Egbe, said that young leaders had inspired major transformations in Nigeria.
“This has happened from the founding fathers of Nigeria’s independence to global music icons.
“These young leaders have been shaping how we evolve. VIMP has played a critical role in nation building of these new leaders for over two decades.
“This is why we support VIMP program because it is building the leaders of tomorrow and today,” he said.
