Nasarawa Speaker holds expanded APC stakeholders, solicits support for leaders

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Danladi Jatau, has urged his constituents and people of the state to continue to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration and other leaders to succeed.
The speaker made the call during an expanded APC stakeholders meeting of Kokona West constituency in Garaku on Friday.
Jatau said that the meeting was to thank the people of his constituency for their votes and support during the 2023 general election as well as their support and prayers for his emergence as speaker of the 7th Assembly.
“I call for this meeting to appreciate you for supporting and voting me during the 2023 election.
“Without your votes, it will not be possible for me to be a member of the House and speaker today.
“I also want to thank His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, and Honorable members of the House for supporting me to be the leader of the 7th Assembly,” he said.
Jatau renewed his commitment to lobby for projects as well as initiate good policies and programs that would have direct bearing on the lives of his constituents and the state at large.
“By God’s grace, I will make you proud by providing purposeful leadership at all times.
“I will continue to do my best, ensure that I get jobs for my people, initiate empowerment programs as well as embark on projects that will have direct bearing on your lives,” he said.
Jatau however solicited for the support of the people of his constituency and others to enable him succeed.
“What I want from you is patience, loyalty and support to the government of the day and to me to enable us succeed,” he said.
Jatau appreciated the governor for his efforts in developing the state especially in the areas of road construction and education, among others.
He also called on the people of the state to remain calm and pray for Sule’s victory ahead of the Supreme Court verdict.
“His Excellency is doing well in the state, especially in areas of road construction, education, health, market, infrastructure and investment, among others
“Let’s continue to support him to succeed in order to attract more projects and enjoy more dividends of democracy,” he said.
Besides, the speaker appealed for the construction of Kokona/Bassa/Angiri road to open up the communities.
On local government election, he urged the people of Kokona West constituency to remain calm and follow stakeholders and government directive on the exercise.
“If the time of the local government election reached, we will sit and deliberate on how to ensure the success of the election in the constituency,” he said.
According to him, he and other stakeholders have lobbied for the establishment of Access Bank in Kokona Local Government Area.
The speaker disclosed that he would tour the six electoral wards of his constituency to appreciate them for their votes and support to him during the 2023 general election.
On their parts, Mr Luka Osu, SSA to the governor; Mr  Akpomoshi Musa, Deputy Chairman, Kokona LGC; Mr Jacob Terry, APC Chairman, Kokona LGA, and Mr Yamusa Vune, APC Chairman, Bassa Electoral Ward, appreciated the initiative and pledged their sustained support.
 Similarly, Mr Usman Ewa, Councillor representing Agwada ward; the APC Youth Leader of Kokona, Malam Abubakar Abdullahi; Hajiya Mairo Krishi, Supervisory Councillor of Social Services; and Alhaji Abubakar Osu, a stakeholder, all appreciated God for the emergence of Jatau as the speaker of the 7th Assembly.
They also assured Jatau of their loyalty and support at all times.
They equally pledged their commitment to continue to work tirelessly for the victory of APC beyond 2027.
Earlier, Mr Abubakar Ibrahim, the Director General, Danladi Jatau Campaign Organisation, assured the speaker of their readiness to support the state government policies and programs to succeed.
He also assured the speaker of his resolve to work with him for the progress of the constituency and the state at large.
The expanded APC stakeholders meeting organised by the speaker was also attended by the party chairmen from the six electoral wards of Kokona West, youths and women leaders, party executives of Kokona LGA,  political appointees and other critical stakeholders.
