Naira records two weeks depreciation at official market

The Naira on Friday further depreciated at the official market trading at N1,393.25 against the U.S. dollar.

According to data released on the official website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Naira lost N5.80.

This represents a 0.4 per cent loss when compared to Thursday when the local currency traded at N1387.44 to the dollar.

The Naira, which has experienced weeklong depreciation, also suffered a free fall the previous week.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, the Naira traded at N1,378.02 per dollar.

On Tuesday, the local currency traded at N1,384.29, while on Wednesday, it traded at N1,387.09.
