Man United’s Ed Glazer spent £45,000 backing Trump

Manchester United Director, Ed Glazer, gave £45,000 to help fund Donald Trump’s successful presidential campaign.
In figures released by the Federal Election Commission, Glazer, who is the co-chairman of NFL franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was revealed to have also funded Hillary Clinton’s campaign to the tune of £4,000 – more than ten times less than the sum afforded to Trump’s Republican campaign.
Trump will be officially inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States on January 20, 2017after securing a shock election victory over Democratic nominee and bookies favourite, Senator Hillary Clinton.
Glazer became involved at Manchester United, following his father, Malcolm’s successful takeover of the club in 2005.
He sits on the Manchester United board alongside brothers Avram and Joel who hold the positions of co-chairmen at Old Trafford.
Houston Texans owner Bob McNair also funded Donald Trump’s election push with a huge £250,000 donation.
John Berylson, who is the current owner of south London club Millwall, also gave $2,700 to the president elect’s campaign – as well as offering $500 to the Republican National Committee.
Trump received a number of endorsements from the world of sport during his campaign with Billie Jean King and Tom Brady reported to have been supporters of the former reality TV personality.
Ed’s brother Avram donated £5,000 to Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful campaign as well as over £250,000 to the Democratic National Committee.
Arsenal’s billionaire owner Stan Kroenke, who also owns the NFL franchise LA Rams, contributed £2,500 to Clinton’s campaign – a sum that was matched by Democratic supporter and Liverpool chairman, Tom Werner.
