Man dies in Ibadan after consuming local gin‏

covered_deadA man, whose wife recently delivered a baby boy, slumped in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital at the weekend and died after drinking the local dry gin popularly known as paraga.

The 32-year-old Saidi Taiwo (Akinigani) was said to have left his wife and the baby with his parents at Omi-Adio area and chose to stay with one of his friends in Apata-Ganga to celebrate the arrival of his baby.

After taking ‘shots’ from one drinking joint to the other, Taiwo, a commercial bus driver, died at a popular “paraga joint” located at Ago-Igbira in Adifase area of Apata-Ganga.

After reporting the matter at the Apata Divisional Police Headquarters, family members took the corpse away for burial.
