Man beats wife to death in Ilesa

covered_deadA middle-aged man, Wale Agbaje, has allegedly beaten his wife to death during a scuffle over some domestic issues in Ilesa, Ilesa Local Government Area of Osun.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the incident occurred at Iroye Street in the town on Monday.

An eye witness told NAN that the couple had lately been engaged in altercation until the latest fatal incident.

The eyewitness recalled that after the couple had shouted at each other, the husband hit the woman, identified simply as Jumoke, with a block on the forehead.

Jumoke, who was said to have bled profusely following the attack was rushed to a hospital for medical attention, but later died.

It was gathered that detectives from the Police ‘B’ Division Headquarters, Ilesa, had arrested the suspect for interrogation.

Mrs Dorothy Gimba, the state Commissioner of Police, confirmed the incident to NAN, saying investigation into the matter has started.
