Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have protested an alleged plan by the leadership of the party to hand pick candidates for the May 12 local government election.

The protesters from Oke Ogun, Egbeda and other local government areas in the state stormed the state secretariat of the party on Monday with placards.

The party members, who disrupted vehicular movement in the area, accused their leaders of bias and injustice.

One of the protesters, Kamorudeen Obisesan, said the leadership of the party have decided to handpick candidates for the council poll which was against the promise made by Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

He said the existence of factions in the state chapter of the party, if not checked, would spell doom ahead of 2019 general elections.

Attempts to get the reaction of  the party leadership on the allegations proved abortive.
