The President of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, Dr. Nike Akande, has commended Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, for his uncommon entrepreneurial spirit and giant strides in the telecommunication industry which has made the Globacom brand a household name in the country.
Dr. Akande gave the commendation in her opening remarks at the Globacom Special Day at the on- going 30th Lagos International Trade Fair held at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Friday.
She said it was instructive that “latest figures from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) confirmed Globacom as the leader in new lines subscription for amassing 5 million new subscribers between June 2015 and June 2016.
This represents a growth of 68 per cent of all
new subscriptions”.

The LCCI President expressed satisfaction that the Lagos Trade Fair, which they had consistently organised in the last 29 years, had grown in leaps and bounds to the extent that it is now adjudged as the biggest and best in West Africa.
In a remark, Globacom’s Head, Corporate Sales, Kamaldeen Shonibare, explained that Globacom was participating in the Fair because of its firm belief in Nigeria.
He described the theme of the Fair “Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth” as timely and complimentary to efforts to reflate the economy.
Shonibare opined that the best strategy to beat recession was
patronage of home made goods by all, adding that Globacom was irrevocably committed to giving Nigerians the best deals possible through provision of gilt-edged products and services at affordable rates.
