The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, recently paid a condolence visit to Senator Victor Ndoma-egba at his Abuja residence  over destruction and looting of his property  by hoodlums.

The house of the former Senate Majority Leader in Calabar, Cross River State was attacked by hoodlums as a fallout of the #EndSARS protest.

The Senator, who  was not in the country at the time of the incident, said in a statement that the sponsored hoodlums broke into his house and looted it to the ground leaving only the bare floor

According to him , “All the toilets, baths, pumps and indeed every imaginable fitting were removed as were items of furniture, clothing, a huge collection of mainly rare, out of print books, documents and historic photographs.

“They also removed all the windows, railings, family pictures and burglary proofs. Even my private chapel was not spared.

“They set the cars ablaze and parts of the building after more than four hours of interrupted operations in my house. It was methodical. Among the intruders were obviously electricians, plumbers, carpenters, motor mechanics, panel beaters and other tradesmen,” he said.

The Chief Whip of the Senate whose friendship with Senator Ndoma-Egba dates many years ago had earlier in a statement condemned the destruction and called it unpleasant.

He condoled with the entire family of Senator  Ndoma-Egba over the huge loss and urged them to  forgive everyone and continue their good work in the society.
Meanwhile, Kalu has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 25th anniversary on the throne.
Describing the Emir as a high-detribalised Nigerian, Kalu, who is also Dan Galadima of Ilorin, commended the prominent monarch for promoting peaceful co-existence among Nigerians irrespective of religious and tribal differences.
The former Governor stressed that the Emir is a selfless monarch, who is passionate about growth and progress of his domain and Nigeria at large.
Kalu urged the traditional ruler to continue his good works, which has brought robust development to Ilorin metropolis and Kwara state large, adding that the role of traditional institutions in national development cannot be undermined.
In a goodwill message, Kalu prayed for longer life and sound health for the Emir.
He said, “As Dan Galadima of Ilorin, I am happy to join the good people of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara state in general, to celebrate an outstanding monarch and patriotic statesman, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the occasion of his 25th coronation anniversary.
“The Emir of Ilorin has over the years, sustained his goodwill, owing to his attributes, anchored on fairness and justice.
