Insecurity: South-East leaders to meet Buhari Thursday

South-East governors and some political and religious leaders in the zone, on Monday, held an expanded meeting on the issues affecting the zone with a resolution to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday to discuss the welfare of the region, especially in areas of security and infrastructure.
Chairman of South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, made this known while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting held in Government House, Enugu

He said that details of the meeting would be revealed when they return.
“We have resolved that we are going to meet with Mr President for the welfare of our people in the South-East. When we come back, we will give you the content of our meeting with the president”, he disclosed.
Other governors at the meeting were the host governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State. Religious leaders were the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev, (Dr) Calistus Onaga and the Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Anglican Communion, Most Rev (Dr) Emmanuel Chukwuma.
Other political leaders included Senator Victor Umeh, Sen Enyinnaya Abaribe and Senator Jim Nwobodo.
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Worldwide , Chief Nnia Nwodo was also in attendance.
Ugwuanyi after the meeting showed them the security vehicles (Hilux) his administration purchased to enhance security in the state.
