The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, has manufactured and presented a solar-powered automated soap, water and sanitizer dispenser to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Presenting the dispenser to the governor at the Government House, Enugu, on Tuesday, the management of the institution led by the chairman of the Governing Council, Deaconess Ifeoma Nwobodo and the Rector, Prof. Austin Nweze, said that the donation was the institution’s contribution to the Enugu State government’s efforts in ensuring observation of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocol for containing the spread of COVID-19.
They added that the institution has the capacity to mass produce the product if given the support.
Responding, Ugwuanyi commended the management and staff of IMT Enugu for their initiative.
He said: “This is the kind of relationship that should exist between government and institutions in the area of research”.
Ugwuanyi assured the institution of his administration’s support and cooperation towards the success of the project.
