Odion Ighalo broke his goalscoring duck on Sunday as he netted in Watford’s 2-1 win over Arsenal in quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
The attacker, who has been struggling to rediscover his goal scoring heroics from earlier in the season, returned to form in fantastic fashion. He has scored just once in 2016.
He collected Troy Deeney’s flick on in the 50th minute and turned Gabriel Paulista inside out before firing unerringly past David Ospina in the Arsenal goal.
The Nigerian striker almost doubled his account two minutes later as he fired over from yet another Deeney head-down following good work from Allan Nyom.
He continued to impress and came close to scoring his brace on the hour but just failed to reach Nathan Ake’s teasing cross from the right.
Adlene Guediora would go on to net Watford’s second in the 63rd minute as the champions, were put to the sword despite Danny Welbeck’s late consolation at a packed Emirates Stadium.
Ighalo has now scored 16 goals in all competitions for Watford this season.
