Demand for air travel across the globe increased further in September, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said on Thursday.
With the increase, it said the outlook for the remaining months of the year was good.
Demand for air travel measured in revenue passenger kilometres rose by 7.3 per cent in September.
The record is ahead of a 7.1 per cent gain recorded in August, IATA said in its regular monthly traffic figures.
So far, demand is up by 6.7 per cent in line with IATA’s forecast for a 6.7 per cent rise for the year as whole.
“The demand for air travel in September was robust even with economic slowdown in key emerging markets such as China,” IATA Director General Tony Tyler said.
“The industry seems set for a positive end to 2015.”
