Hoodlums, in the early hours of Sunday, stormed Olofin Grammar School in Idanre, Ondo State, killed two security guards – Akingbade Adewoleoye and Akinjemiyan Babayemi – and stole more than 150 laptops.
The laptops were just given to the school by the state government.
Although a police station is less than 200 metres to the school, the hoodlums had a free day while the operation lasted.
Principal of the school, Mr Adenuoye Fredrick Akin, confirmed the incident.
He said security agents had already been notified.
It is not clear how many vehicles were brought by the hoodlums to cart away the laptops.
Later in the day, Information Commissioner, Kayode Akinmade, his counterparts in Agriculture and Natural Resources and Education, Tunde Atere and Jide Adejuyigbe visited the school.
Akinmade, an indigene of Idanre, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, assured that security agents would apprehend the killers.
Also, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, confirmed the robbery and said the command had begun investigation.
