A 29-year-old staff member of Homeland Foodie Company, Ibadan, Olajide Dada, was, on Friday, arraigned before a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing the company’s money.

Dada was charged with forgery and stealing, to which he, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between January and May at the company in Ibadan.

Amusan said that the defendant stole the company’s N1,127,400 and also fraudulently brought in goods worth N450,150 into the company without the knowledge of the owner.

He said that the defendant was using the company’s facility to sell goods, while enriching himself with the proceeds.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 457 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Court President, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum.

Yusuf said that one of the sureties must be a blood relation to the defendant.

She, thereafter, adjourned the case till June 26 for hearing.
