Ganduje to Kwankwaso: You are undermining Buhari, says ‘I will soon expose your shady deals in office’

It was a bad day for former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Thursday as his successor, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, vowed to expose his shady deals and sharp practices while in office between 2011 and 2015.
Kwankwaso, a member of the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, also governed the North-West state between 1999 and 2003.
Ganduje, Kwankwaso’s deputy between 2011 and 2015, is locked in a supremacy battle with his former boss over the latter’s rumoured attempt to wrest the 2019 presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from President Muhammadu Buhari.
It is generally believed that Kwankwaso is already oiling his political machinery for 2019 but Ganduje has consistently said that “there is no vacancy in Aso Rock”, insisting that any attempt to undermine Buhari by Kwankwaso will fail.
Ganduje, who spoke while inspecting road projects at Dakata-Bella area of the state, said: “Some of the landmark achievements purportedly executed by Kwankwaso were characterised by sharp practices, and we would soon expose him for people to know the calibre of person he is.
“We are peaceful people, we do not go about with dangerous weapons and our mission is to improve the welfare of our people and we won’t be distracted.”
Speaking on Kwankwaso’s rumoured ambition, Ganduje said:
“A lot of things happened recently and some people are already undermining President Muhammadu Buhari. I want to make it clear that we would not tolerate insubordination under our roof and Kano would do the needful whenever the need arises. We are solidly behind President Muhammad Buhari and his programmes.
“Kano people will not support anybody working against him. It is unfortunate for the so-called politician who claimed to be a leader, hired hoodlums with dangerous weapons to disrupt the peace of the state. Government and security agencies will not tolerate this attitude.’’
He advised Kano citizens to always watch those working against the unity and peace of the state, assuring that all measures had been put in place to restore the lost glory of the state.
