The Living Grace Foundation Medical Mission, based in the United States of America (USA), on Thursday took its medical outreach to the Enugu Sports Club to ensure healthy living of the club members.

The medical outreach that took place at the Enugu Sports Club Pool Side, was themed, “Your Health Is Our Priority”, as the foundation screened and treated Diabities, Hypertension, Cholesterol, Malaria and other sicknesses.

The General Manager (GM) and President of the foundation, Dr Vitus Nwaele, said the foundation was founded in 2019 in the USA.

He noted that the foundation does charity work in the West African Sub-region and the USA and was in Lagos in 2022.

“Currently, we are in Nigeria, Enugu specifically, for medical outreach and we had outreach for indigent population in Trans-Ekulu two days ago and today we are at Enugu Sports Club.

“We are giving this free medical service in collaboration with my colleagues and friends working at the University Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu.

“We decided to take the exercise to Enugu Sports Club because I have a lot of friends that needed medical attention but they are not aware,” Nwaele said.

Nwaele said that the current insecurity in the South East is one of their major challenges in carrying out the exercise in every state of the region.

Sir Victor Atuonwu, Chairman, Enugu Sports Club, who took part in the screening, said that the exercise is worthwhile and needed to be a regular exercise.

“Many people do not even know that they have health issues until after the test and I am happy that Club members got the opportunity to be tested and treated for free,” Atuonwu said.

Atuonwu said that the club is sure of the drugs and encouraged members to always take advantage of an exercise of this nature for their own good.

Dr Toby Agujobi, a member of the sports club, described the exercise as a welcome development and noted that many discoveries will take place from the activities.

Agujobi said he never knew that he had Malaria and had been moving around with it without knowing, if not for the exercise.

He encouraged members to always go for medical tests for discovery of hidden ailments and for early treatment.
