First PhD in Energy and Environment: Friends congratulate Akintunde

For becoming the first Nigerian doctor of philosophy in energy and environment of the Premier University of Ibadan, professional colleagues of Dr. Yunus Abiodun Akintunde at home and Diaspora have lauded the feat they described as unprecedented in the country.
Akintunde’s associates under the banner of “Friends of Yunus Akintunde” in a congratulatory message signed on their behalf by the Chairman, Westfield Global Construction Ltd, Abuja, Alhaji Abdulwasiu Adebisi said: “Friends of Yunus Akintunde, PhD felicitate with our man on his well deserved and earned Doctoral Degree of Premier University of Ibadan.”
Alhaji Wasiu Adebisi, an Architect further described Dr. Yunus Akintunde as “a dogged fighter, academic wizardry and trailblazers. We are glad to associate with your numerous achievements in life. This is another landmark achievement; an addition to your many firsts. May it please Allah to crown this great feat with Agodi Government House come 2019”.
Wasiu Adebisi prayed for God’s protection and guidance for Akintunde on his commitment to bring to bear his wealth of experience as a professional in politics to tackle myriads of problems confronting the state from power generation to cleaner and safer environment where socioeconomic lives of our people can be better enhanced.
Akintunde is a leading governorship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and was a former Commissioner for Works and Transport.
On Wednesday, the University of Ibadan Centre for Petroleum, Energy, Economics, Law, CPEEL, produced him as its first doctor of philosophy holder in energy.
The Director of the Centre, Prof Adeola Adenikinju said “CPEEL is a centre of excellence in energy training and research. We train students in masters and Ph.D. In the last few years, we have had privilege of producing 8 Ph.Ds but this is the first time we will have somebody who specialises in energy and environment. We are good we are achieving the desired results. It is good to know that the new doctor did his masters degree here and he has also acquired professional experiences in the field of energy.
