The Police Command in Akwa Ibom State has confirmed the death of a former ExxonMobil official in Villa Marina Hotels and a police officer in Tevoli Hotels in Eket.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, disclosed this on Friday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

She said the contractor to the multinational oil company died on Sunday while the police officer died on October 14.

John, however, could not disclose the names of the victims at the time of filing this report.

“The former ExxonMobil staff died at the hotel in Eket as a result of slipping when he came out from the bathroom and fell and hit his head on the tiles,” John said.

John said that necessary investigation had been done and the police have released the corpse to the family for burial.

She said that the police officer who came from Lagos to Eket on an official assignment died of heart failure.
