The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu, Dr Peter Mbah, has promised to make Enugu State a robust, smart and viable economy if elected into power.

Mbah disclosed this when members of the Guild or Public Affairs Analysts of Nigeria (GPAAN), Enugu State Chapter, visited him at his Enugu residence on Monday.

GPAAN team was led by the Enugu State Chapter Chairman Ambrose Igboke and the Vice Chairman, Dr Uchenna Cyril Anioke.

Speaking, Mbah outlined his mission and vision and drew attention to his trending manifesto which, he said, was getting attention among the people of Enugu State.

Mbah explained that he planned to tackle the challenges of the state, using a strategic plan to move Enugu State from a paltry GDP of $4.4 billion economy to an ambitious $30 billion economy, if elected.

He promised to operate a “lean” and smart economy which would be realistic, achievable and realizable, using private sector as drivers of the economy.

Mbah pledged a technology-driven economy with intention to do things “differently” within four years of his administration.

In his analysis, Mbah further stated that Enugu State had the potentials to be among the top economically viable states in Nigeria and promised to work on increasing the internally generated revenue of the state.

The PDP candidate said he looked forward to  continuous interactive sessions with the GPAAN for more cross fertilizations of ideas.

Earlier, Igboke said GPAAN was on an advocacy visit to Mbah to interact with him and get first hand information on his vision and mission for Enugu State so that members could have better understanding of his ideas.

Igboke explained that public affairs analysts were opinion molders who set agenda for discourse and proffer critical analyses and insights in national discourse.

The Vice Chairman, Dr Uchenna Anioke, said the visit was across party lines and to the candidates of the major political parties in the coming elections.

He said that GPAAN would continue the advocacy as the elections drew close.
